Why it matters

Improving Cheltenham

We think a town centre does well when its venues are busy, its buildings are cared for and people have reasons to spend time there.

  • Hospitality jobs

Restaurants, bars and hotels give people in the town work in kitchens, behind the bar and front of house. The venue at 129–133 Promenade supports well over 100 jobs.

  • Investment in the town

Money spent on a venue is money spent in Cheltenham. [PLACEHOLDER: what has been invested at 129–133 Promenade, and when]

  • Historic buildings in use

129, 131 and 133 Promenade are Regency villas built in the early 1830s, and all three are Grade II* listed. Old buildings are looked after best when they are busy and earning their keep.

  • A lively Promenade

Places to sit outside bring people onto the Promenade through the day and into the evening, which is good for the shops and venues around them.
